Eligibility for Admission

The minimum qualification for admission  is a Bachelor Degree of the University of Kerala or a Degree of any other University recognized  as equivalent thereto with not less than 50% aggregate marks. There is also an Admission Test, of 2 hrs duration, carrying 100 marks, aimed at testing  the general knowledge of the candidates and their aptitude for librarianship as a career. Minimum marks to get qualified in the test is 40, with concessions in the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes candidates (35 marks) and  other eligible communities (37 marks) as stipulated by the university.

Number of Seats at present is 20, out of which 20% are reserved for SC /ST candidates and 5% for candidates belonging to Other Backward Communities. The total seats are almost equally allocated for candidates with degree in Science and Arts and commerce.
